OVERVIEW: This is an exquisite example of an EJ Bebe. She has perfect bisque, with her original Jumeau wig and hairband. Her original marked body is all original finish. She is dressed in a charming all-antique layered costume including her garter belt and nice antique boots. Layaway is always an option. Please contact me to discuss terms. Here are the details:
HEAD: Her bisque head is perfect with no cracks, chips, or hairlines. She has large brown paperweight eyes. Her painting is beautiful, and I especially like her lip painting. She is wearing her original blond mohair wig with original cork pate. It is typical Jumeau style of the period with the little curls that frame her face. Her hair is pulled back with her original Jumeau celluloid hairband. She retains her original neck coil. She is marked Depose / E7J / and artist marks of 8 and T. Examination: There is nothing to report – very fine.
BODY: I do not wish to remove her clothing, but I have examined her original body as well as I am able. The body has attached hip balls and straight wrists, and is marked with the Jumeau stamp. I see no repairs or repainting.
CLOTHES: She is fully dressed in period layers of all-antique clothing, and she has such presence. She wears a black silk coat, trimmed in wide gold ribbon and lined with golden wool. The fabulous bonnet matches the coat. Her dress is velvet with lacy bodice. Underneath she wears a camisole, half-slip and bloomers. She retains her garter belt which hold her thigh-length knit stockings in place. Finally she wears lovely antique side-button keystone boots. The silk is very worn on one sleeve and shows normal wear on the chest of her coat and along the brim edge of her bonnet. The velvet is worn on her dress and the tops of her tall stockings have tears. This is normal wear for an authentic costume of the era and the overall impression is very charming.
