Overview: This gorgeous German bisque doll is an early Kestner. She has beautiful perfect bisque and her excellent original early Kestner body. She is fully dressed including a nice antique dress and antique unders. Layaway is always an option, but please contact me prior to purchase to discuss terms. Here are the details:
Head: Her beautiful bisque head is perfect with no damage or repairs. She has dark brown sleep eyes that work perfectly and retain the original eye lid wax. Her mouth is closed and her brows are flat (not molded) and heavily feathered, in the earlier style. She is incised 7 near the rear rim and marked in ink XVI on top of the front rim. She is wearing a French mohair wig that suits her coloring. Factory Imperfections: head opening is not perfectly round. Signs of Wear: None – mint. This is an especially fine bisque head - no speckling, no rubs, very clean.
Body: Her original early Kestner body is in overall excellent condition. She has loose ball joints at the shoulders, elbows and knees. Her wrists are straight and her hands are cupped. She has the trademark saggy butt typical of this early body style. There is a repair to one knee, and the remainder is entirely fine original finish.
Clothes: She is fully dressed in a sweet costume. She wears a nice antique dress, which appears white, but is really very pale pink. Underneath, she wears three pieces of antique unders, chemise, half-slip and bloomers. Her antique clothing is all in excellent condition. She has cotton stockings and custom made pink silk shoes. Finally, she has a cute pink and white bonnet.
