OVERVIEW: She is 18.5” tall with a perfect glazed porcelain shoulderhead. Her fabulous antique costume is worthy of a French Fashion lady! Her antique cloth body has leather arms. Collectors refer to this hairstyle as Dolley Madison. Layaway is always an option but please contact me before purchase to discuss terms. Here are the details:
HEAD: Her china shoulderhead is perfect with no cracks, chips, or hairlines. She is beautifully painted with large blue eyes, soft cheek color, and a dark M-shaped line between her lips. Her hair has a molded bow and band, although they are painted black and blend with her hair color. She is marked “4” near a back sew hole. Examination: A tiny mark near her lips, the typical occasional speckle or pit, and very minor rubs to her curls. She is a very nice example – a beautiful lady.
BODY: Her antique cloth body is in very good condition. She has long white leather arms with individually stitched fingers. The arms have some patching.
CLOTHES: It is her antique clothing that really sets her apart. She wears a beautiful two-piece 1880 walking suit of tan and green silk – perhaps a silk blend. The long fitted jacket has many tiny covered buttons (one missing) and these same buttons decorate the ruffled train on her skirt. Any lady would be proud to wear this costume. Underneath, she wears a matched set of half-slip and bloomers. She is a buxom woman with a large bosom pinned to her torso. She wears long knit stockings (mended) and nice green oilcloth shoes with heels.
