OVERVIEW: Oh, what a wonderful Kestner 169. She has a closed mouth, a composition body, and perfect bisque of excellent quality. She is fully dressed in wonderful all antique and/or original clothing, and she retains her fabulous original wig and her plaster pate. Her original marked body is in excellent condition. Layaway is always an option. Please contact me to discuss terms. Here are the details:
HEAD: Her bisque head is perfect with no cracks, chips, or hairlines. The entire head is flawless except for one inconspicuous speckle. There are no signs of wear. This is a great bisque head! She has brown sleep eyes, a closed mouth, and beautiful painting. She retains her original long blond mohair wig, which is in the original set, and in excellent condition. She also has her original plaster pate. She is marked D / Made in Germany / 8 / 169.
BODY: Her original Kestner body is marked in red on the hip, Germany. This body is in very fine original finish, with no repairs or repainting. There is some uneven yellowing of the finish, as is often seen on these dolls.
CLOTHES: She is fully dressed in a great all-antique/original costume. She was sold to me as all original, but I believe her shoes and socks are fine antique replacements. Her tan cotton dress has a tiny flowered print. It is edged in narrow black velvet ribbon with wider velvet ribbon at the waist. Underneath, she wears a three-piece set of factory unders, chemise, half-slip, and pantaloons, all decorated with rows of matching laces. She has black oilcloth tie shoes and black and cream wool stockings marked B. Everything fits perfectly and everything is in excellent aged condition.
