 SOLD ON LAYAWAY

OVERVIEW: This little lady is a real prize! She has a perfect glazed porcelain shoulderhead with a bun hairdo and tiny brushstrokes around her face. Her antique cloth body with china limbs is likely original. She wears a beautiful taffeta gown with full unders, and she earned a blue ribbon at a 1986 UFDC Regional Convention. She is circa 1850. Layaway is always an option, but please contact me prior to purchase to discuss terms. Here are the details:

HEAD: She has a perfect china shoulderhead. These bun ladies are often dated to the 1840’s, but I will date her circa 1850. She is likely by Kestner. Her hair is pulled back into a bun with tiny brushstrokes all around her face. Factory Imperfections: she has a firing split from one sew hole. Signs of Wear: None – remarkable for her age.

BODY: Her antique body is heavy brown cloth and it is in excellent condition. Her perfect china limbs are long and slender with flat-soled molded boots.

CLOTHES: She wears a gorgeous green taffeta gown with lace trim. It is entirely hand-stitched and lined with brown polished cotton. She also wears a full set of matched under – camisole, pantaloons, simple half-slip and pleated half-slip. Her clothing has age, but the circa date of creation is unknown. I see no fluorescent thread, but the condition seems too good to be period.
